Big Fish
Cirque au carré
Big Fish is a poetic and visual circus-style street performance that blends diabolo and maritime imagery in public spaces.
Big Fish is the name of a boat—a rather unusual one. Its owner is a fisherman just as eccentric as his vessel. Some say he’s not a real sailor, but they say the important thing is to believe in it. And he does! So, with Big Fish, they crisscross paths and roads in search of the best fishing spots. Not just any kind of fishing, but the kind practiced on dry land where you don’t necessarily catch fish. It’s not traditional fishing, but rather a poetic, intimate, visual form of fishing with a touch of madness.
On stage: Loic Del Egido
Cirque au carré
Loic trained at the Escola de Circ Rogelio Rivel in Barcelona from 2006 to 2009, specializing in diabolos. He joined the Scuola di circo Flic in Turin in 2009 to further his skills in diabolos and floor acrobatics. He then worked with the famous Swiss circus Starlight and the Comédie Music-Hall de la Flambée in the production “Quelle Histoire” between 2012 and 2016. A founding member of the Cirque Au Carré company, he has co-directed it with Isabelle Schuster since 2015. After two group shows with the company, the idea for a solo show took root in 2019. In 2021, Loïc began building the show and the boat. June 2022: a bottle of champagne on the hull of Big Fish, and off we go on a wild adventure across the world’s oceans.
